A ray of light. On a biscuit.

Behold!, originally uploaded by The Triskaidekagrammatron.

It's quite possible that biscuits, those golden flaky nuggets of southern breakfast goodness, don't get enough love. But here's a fine look at a rare moment in the sun for one of breakfast's underrated delicacies.

Porridge as a cold remedy

Breakfast, originally uploaded by LiseMac.

I love the stark, stilllife quality of this photo. There's something so wholesome and yet lonesome about it.

Maybe its the depression-era simplicity of the large pan in the background, juxtaposed with the modern cereal bowl and spoon. It just hits me in a funny, pleasant way.

Corn fritters at Mart 130 in Melbourne

mart-130-corn-fritters, originally uploaded by Wodetzki.

I know that some of this stuff is corn fritters, but I'm not at all sure about the rest of it. A remarkable looking breakfast, it is though. And that's all we care about at GREAT BREAKFAST.

Hip to be square

Americana weekend, originally uploaded by DiscoContinental.

According to the photog, this breakfast is served near Metropolitan and Graham Avenue in NYC. The name of the establishment wasn't given.

But if you're in town and can find the place, this looks like it should be added to your list of things to do.

When egg IS your face.

a breakfast face/egg face, originally uploaded by R@punseLL.

Naturally I'm familiar with the classic breakfast face, in which eggs are eyes and a nice piece of bacon doubles as a wonderous mouth.

Here's a nice twist on that old standby.

Kinda scary actually.

Matcha Pancakes, originally uploaded by princess_of_llyr.

Nothing. The Princess explains:

To make:

Just add 1 tsp (plus a little more to sprinkle on top) matcha powder to any plain/buttermilk/oatmeal pancake recipe! Voila!

"Oh Yes"

Oh Yes, originally uploaded by inglian.

This is the most perfectly sliced and cut toast I've ever seen. And the butter is finely spread throughout and within.

Oh yes, indeed.
