Starbucks warming up to breakfast
Up until now, Starbucks has ruled the world of overpriced coffee and confounding size terminology. Well, they're making a new bid to expand their empire: anyone up for a Venti Breakfast? Sure they've nibbled around the sandwhich business, and you could always buy a scone or a cookie. But now it looks as if they'll finally pair their admittedly excellent coffee with some morning fare.

I don't hardly ever go to Starbucks unless I've got a gift certificate, but if there's a decent portable quiche to be had, I'll for sure head in and try it.Offering such trimmings as peppered bacon and Black Forest ham, Starbucks added the English muffin sandwiches to stores in Washington, D.C., last year, and in Portland, Oregon, last month. San Francisco stores will get them in early April, and Chicago outlets will start selling them later this year.
By the time its current fiscal year ends in October, Starbucks says it will offer breakfast sandwiches at roughly 600 stores -- up from about 250 today.
